“This confident (or living) hope gives us the encouragement and enablement we need for daily living. It does not put us in a rocking chair where we complacently await the return of Jesus Christ. Instead, it puts us in the marketplace, on the battlefield, where we keep on going when the burdens are heavy and the battles are hard. Hope is not a sedative; it is a shot of adrenaline, a spiritual blood transfusion.” ~ Pastor John Piper

This seems to be a reoccurring message for me lately and I’m sure not by some quirk of circumstance. It comes at a time when I feel like I might have lost hope and I have resigned myself to just accept the things that come my way. I’m just kind of run down and worn out by life. I don’t find myself looking forward to anything and that life feels kind of dull and numb. But the beauty of Hope, is that it is a Gift from God. I don’t have to muster it up or generate it myself. I can just pray and ask for it and it is given to me. A favorite verse of mine is found in Romans 15:13, “May the God of Hope fill you with ALL Joy and Peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”.

Life sometimes interrupts the flow of God’s Spirit…or so it seems. Great to know the HOPE we have in Him does not depend on anything but Him…and our submission to All He Is, and All He Wants Us To Be!! Blessings to you Paul, and thanx for checking out our blog!

@Paul ~ I’ve been there more times than I’d care to admit,,,in the darkness that envelopes like a pressing storm that as about to unleash its’ fury. It’s at these times when I find myself on my knees, completely done with the ‘trying’ in life. It is in this broken state that I am humbled and find myself finally surrendering whatever burden I’ve been carrying on my own to my Father above. It is at these lowest points that God does the best work in my heart. I rise from the ashes, take His hand and continue on my journey. Nevermind the storm….I now have the hand of the Savior who will dance with me in the rain! Be blessed brother! Praying for your Warrior heart! ~ Rose
